Abstract
Food is a human right. All people deserve to access healthy and affordable foods. Supermarkets and other retail outlets that sell healthy foods play a major role in improving healthy food access to all. While some countries succeed in creating healthy food environments in supermarket setting, some still face challenges. This seminar will give an opportunity to learn from the international monitoring studies of supermarket environments and supermarket policies, and a series of controlled trials in Australia designed to encourage healthier eating. Our guest speaker is Dr. Adrian Cameron, a senior research fellow at the Global Obesity Centre, School of Health and Social Development, Deakin University, Australia. He has received many academic awards, including 2017 Council of Academic Public Health Institutions Australia (CAPHIA), 2016 VicHealth Award for Promoting Healthy Eating, and 2015 Konrad Jamrozik Prize at the Population Health Congress, Hobart.
