Experience sharing on Macquarie online course

Abstract

Since the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic, academic sector has undergone a major shift on teaching and learning deliveries. With the containment measures and stay-home orders, classes have been shifted to online conferencing. All academia – teachers, students, and academic staffs – have to transformed the learning methods into online, at the same time ensuring the learning outcomes are met. The workshop IMPROVING ONLINE TEACHING AND LEARNING was conducted as collaboration between Macquarie School of Education at Macquarie University and Mahidol University, and attended by faculty members. A total of 12-hours workshop was administered weekly for four weeks, delivered fully online through proLearn (the Academy’s Learning Management System) and Zoom. The participants of the workshop were exposed and practiced to design various methods of online learning, including: 1) e-Pedagogy, 2) Principles of good online learning design, 3) Assessment online, 4) Designing and using basic multimedia learning objects in ODL, 5) Learning sequences and interactive live class design, and 6) Delivering effective online medical education
