Thermal Resilience and Health Innovation for Vulnerable Environments (THRIVE)

หัวหน้าโครงการ: มาลี สันภูวรรณ์
ระยะเวลา: สิงหาคม 2567 – สิงหาคม 2568

Objectives

  1. Understand the Health Impacts of Climate Change: We aim to meticulously assess the health impacts of climate change, with an accentuated focus on direct links between climate exposure pathways — notably extreme heat and flooding — and specific health outcomes. This includes adverse effects of heat exposure leading to cardiovascular diseases, the ramifications of food insecurity on nutritional health, and the mental health challenges exacerbated by climate-induced environmental changes.
  2. Develop Targeted Interventions: Our interventions will be bespeaking, designed to directly address the identified health outcomes. This includes deploying cooling strategies to mitigate heat stress and its cardiovascular impacts, implementing agricultural and food distribution innovations to combat food insecurity, and establishing support systems to address mental health concerns arising from climate stressors.
  3. Strengthen Climate Mitigation and Resilience: We seek to boost the adaptability and responsiveness of communities in rural settings, integrating advanced sensor technology and innovative cooling methods to better manage the health risks associated with climate change.
  4. Facilitate Knowledge Exchange: By drawing parallels and distinctions between the contexts of Kenya and Thailand, the project aims to unearth actionable insights that resonate on both a local and global scale, enriching the discourse on climate resilience.
