The 2024 National Population Conference

On April 26, 2024, the Thai Population Association organized the National Population Academic Conference 2024. The event was honored by Mr. Varawut Silpa-archa, Minister of Social Development and Human Security, who delivered a keynote speech at the Professor Dr. Wisit Prachuapmoh Foundation on the topic ‘How Will Thailand Cope with the Demographic Crisis?’ The conference took place at the Mandarin Bangkok Hotel (Samyan).

During this academic conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of the Population and Social Research Institute, Mahidol University, had the honor of moderating an academic seminar on the topic ‘Overcoming Rare Crises: Structural Problems – Finding Solutions for Sustainable Social and Economic Development.’ Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutthida Chuanwan served as the moderator and judge of the articles. Prof. Dr. Patama Vapattanawong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aree Jampaklai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bhubate Samutachak, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jongjit Rittirong acted as critics and judges of the articles.

Furthermore, two students from the institute’s M.A. Program in Population and Social Research (Thai Program) participated in presenting articles:

Mr. Thirawat Wannapruek presented the topic ‘Adjusting to Being a Platform Worker in the Transportation Service Sector’ and received the award for an excellent article.

Ms. Khwanruethai Amorndolj presented the topic ‘Influence of Family Recreational Activities on Child Development’ and received the award for an excellent article.
