Book launch event: “Who Cares? COVID-19, Social Protection Response in Southeast Asia” and a seminar on transferring Thailand’s experiences to lessons for the future.

On October 25, 2023, at 5:30 p.m., SEA Junction, in collaboration with the Population and Social Research Institute at Mahidol University and Silkworm Publishing, organized a book launch event titled “Who Cares? COVID-19 Social Protection Response in Southeast Asia,” in its Thai version. The book was compiled by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rosalia Shortino, Founder and Executive Director of the Network of Migrant Population Organizations (Migrant Working Group), along with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aree Jampaklay, Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research at Mahidol University. The event took place at the 4th floor of the SEA JUNCTION conference room at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Mr. Trasvin Jittidecharak , Director of Silk Worm Publishing, delivered a welcome speech, and Prof. Dr. Mingsan Khaosaard, Chairman of the Social Goal Strategy Plan “Thai People 4.0,” introduced the book. During the launch event, a seminar was held, with speakers discussing various issues, including: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teeranong Sakulsri, co-author from the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Rapeepun Jommaroeng, co-author from the Faculty of Public Health, Mahidol University. Prof. Dr. Worawan Chandoevwit from the Faculty of Economics at Khon Kaen University and a social security advisor at the Thailand Development Research Institute. Ms. Suntaree H. Saeng-ging, Executive Director of Homenet Southeast Asia and a Quality Control Committee Member at the National Health Security Office.
