Promoting physical activity in children through schools Conference

On September 14, 2023, from 12:00 to 13:30, TPAK researchers participated in the conference ‘Promoting Physical Activity in Children through Schools,’ organized by the World Health Organization South-East Asia Region. This conference was held online via Zoom and was led by Dr. Dyah Anantalia Widyastari, Head of the Academic Network Development Group at the Thailand Physical Activity Knowledge Development Center. She is also a lecturer at the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University. During the conference, Dr. Dyah Anantalia Widyastari presented on the topic ‘Active School: Improving Physical Activity of Primary School Children in Thailand.’ Her presentation included lessons learned from the Smart Play School project, which follows the 4PC concept. She discussed past experiences, encountered obstacles, and emphasized the need for ongoing support in implementing the 4PC model and monitoring its results. Over 1,200 schools have expressed interest in participating, with 500 schools already involved in projects related to physical activities.
