Sexual Values: An Analysis of Perceived Family Support and Big Five Personalities among Thai Adolescent student in 2014

ABSTRACT

The tendency of the experience of sexual behavior in Thai adolescent increased every year. From the year 2010 to 2014, nearly half of boy students who study in vocational school and one-quarter of those who study in secondary school had ever been engage in Premarital Sexual Intercourse at the same with girl students. Among of them reported that they had sexual intercourse experience before aged 15 and ever been had sexual with female sex worker, other women, and same sex with boy students. While the incident of reproductive health problem namely sexual transmitted infection diseases, HIV and unwanted pregnancy have gradually increased among these adolescent students every year. Although, many projects from the government and private sectors are providing them in order to prove their attitudes about safe sex but the whole outcomes of health problem incident and sexual behavior do not decrease as aspect. It is interesting point to study about the background of Thai adolescent student in the sense of sexual values perception.  
 
The purpose of this study is to examine about the association between sexual values, big five personality among Thai adolescent student by using the secondary data from the 2014 Survey on Conditions of Society, Culture, and Mental Health conducted by the Thai National Statistical Office.
