Global mental health: family and community-based approaches for closing the treatment gap in low-resource settings

Abstract

Globally, the mental health treatment gap is wide, with less than 25% of individuals receiving even minimally sufficient care. Novel strategies are needed to provide care and for promoting mental health and preventing problems before they begin. In this presentation, Dr. Puffer will present on family-based interventions delivered within community settings that aim to improve family well-being as one avenue for improving individual mental health of children and their caregivers.
