International Migration of Thai Migrants: Situation, Management, and Protection

Thailand Research Fund together with Mahidol Migration Centre of Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University organized a workshop “International Migration of Thai Migrants: Situation, Management, and Protection” on Friday 22 December 2017 at Novotel, Siam Square hotel, Bangkok. Professor Dr. Isra Sarntisart gave an opening remark followed by a keynote speech titled “Thai cross-borders migrants: Situation, policy and research directions” by Associate Professor Dr. Krittaya Archavanitkul. The main topics of discussions were on Migration Management, Right, Protection and Economic Impacts with 3 migrant groups, including 1) Unskilled Thai Migrants, 2) Skilled and Semi-skilled Thai Migrants, and 3) Life-style Thai Migrants. There were about 70 academics and key policy stakeholders participated in the discussion to identify research opportunity and policy recommendation on the issues in each session.
