SAKURA Science Exchange Program

Between March 3-12, 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing, along with students from the Doctor of Philosophy in Applied Demography and Social Research (International Program), including Abubakar Yakubu Abbani and Pema Yangchan, as well as students from the Doctor of Philosophy Program in Population and Social Research (Thai Program), including Ms. Rattana Duaydee, participated in the SAKURA Science Exchange Program. This program, named “Collaborative Research and Education on Global Health – Towards a sustainable health society with the concept of Society 5.0,” was held at Hokkaido University Graduate School of Medicine in Sapporo, Japan.

The project aimed to foster cooperation in research and global health education by introducing the concept of Society 5.0 and promoting a sustainable healthy society to the new generation of researchers. It emphasized knowledge and experience sharing through discussions and presentations to encourage collaboration in future research endeavors. The project involved 19 participants from various universities in the network, including Hokkaido University (Japan), Mahidol University (Thailand), De La Salle University and Central Luzon State University (Philippines), University of Peradeniya (Sri Lanka), Seoul National University (Korea), and Gandaki University (Nepal).
