On November 14, 2023, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aree Jampaklay, the Director of the Population and Social Research Institute at Mahidol University, along with the management team, welcomed representatives from various departments on the occasion of participating in the merit-making ceremony for the 52nd anniversary of the institute’s founding. The ceremony included paying homage to sacred objects, offering alms to 9 monks from Hathai Naresuan Temple. Prof. Emeritus Dr. Pramote Prasatkul, the advisor of the institute, presided over the lighting of incense and candles to worship the Triple Gem. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aree Jampaklay gave the opening speech and participated in watching the special activity known as the ‘Long Drum Dance.’ Annually, the institute organizes a ceremony to award scholarships to students and provides educational equipment to 7 schools in Phutthamonthon District. This includes scholarships for sons and daughters of IPSR staff. Awards for innovative work were presented to personnel at Room 101, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University.
