The Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, organized the 33rd Seminar on Research Management Development and Teaching and Learning in Graduate Studies on the topic of “Echoes of Teaching and Research” from July 18 to July 20, 2023. The seminar took place at Room 101 at the Institute for Population and Social Research Mahidol University, and it was also held online via Zoom Meeting to facilitate integration and review of the teaching and learning missions, research, and publication of academic works of the Institute. The seminar was chaired by Associate Professor Dr. Aree Jampaklay, the Director of the Institute, with Dr. Burathep Chokthananukoon also playing a role as the chairman.
During the event, a summary of the results of the 32nd seminar was presented, and progress on its implementation was discussed. On July 18, 2023, the Institute had the honor of hosting several distinguished speakers. Professor Dr. Pattarachai Kiratisin, Vice President for Research at Mahidol University, delivered a lecture on the topic “Research Driven Social Innovation.” Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charamporn Holumyong, Deputy Director of Planning and Quality Assurance, presented on “Integrated Research and Learning,” while Associate Professor Dr. Suchada Thaweesit, Deputy Director of Research, Finance, and Procurement, covered the topic “Reviewing the research and publishing missions of the Institute and developing strategic plans to achieve the desired results.”
On July 19, 2023, the Institute had the pleasure of hosting Associate Professor Dr. Wirote Aroonmanakun from the Faculty of Arts at Chulalongkorn University, who delivered an online lecture on “Guidelines for the application of AI in teaching and learning, research, and ethical issues.” Furthermore, Associate Professor Dr. Jongjit Rittirong, Deputy Director for Curriculum Quality Development, and Associate Professor Dr. Manasigan Kanchanachitra, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, participated in discussions on the topics “Consistency and continuity of PLOs between four courses” and “Exploring alternative teaching and learning approaches.” Overall, the seminar provided a platform for insightful discussions and valuable contributions to teaching, research, and learning in graduate studies.
