ABSTRACT
Development of specific land use and land cover changes is affected by agricultural households' survivals as well as exogenous factors. This study, based on the comparison of 2000 and 2011 surveys of 4503 households in Kanchanaburi of Thailand, applied the variables of interest were analyzed using factor analysis and logistic regression influencing land use and land cover changes.. The analysis extracted some variables with the strongest statistical association with the dependent variables. The result of the analysis revealed a number of influencing factors of economic and demographic characteristics. Factor analysis showed that there are 11 variables describes as two factors were identified with eigenvalue > 1.0, including physical agility which had high loading, variance and cumulative variance scores (46%); and physical tolerance which also had high loading and scores for variance (12%) and cumulative variance (57%). Based on the logistic regression analysis, there are two independent variables (area of land parcel1 and number of agriculture) affecting land use change 2000. And three independent variables (land parcel2, increase net income and income from land) influence land use change 2011.
