Exploring Community-Based Social Innovations to Support Older People: A Case Study of Kajood Handicraft Community Enterprise in Thailand

Abstract

This case study presents the findings from the community based social innovation (CBSI) examined in Thailand, the Kajood Handicraft Community Enterprise. The aim of the research is to describe a) the core roles, services and functioning (including feasibility of scale up) of community-based social innovations for healthy ageing that seek to support older people becoming a resource for their own health and well-being, b) their linkages with and sustainable partnerships to deliver health services, strengthen social systems; and, c) the nature of enabling policies, programmes, financing and interactions with the health/social care delivery system.
 
The presenters will be sharing experience working with RAND EUROPE and WHO funding this project.
