OBJECTIVES :
            The study will be used to determinet he impacto f the AmericanR ed Cross tsunami programminign Thailand, identify successful approaches and provide recommendations to the organizationa and other sectoral stakeholders. The specific areas to be investigated include health knowledge and behavior; understanding of potential disaster risks and their management; the continuing psycho-social impact of the tsunami event and its aftermath; access to an improved water sources; knowledge and practice of correct hygiene and sanitationa; and others. Followintg the sampling strategy of the baseline survey, the survey will include a sample of households drawn from program communities of the water and sanitation (wat/san), disaster preparedness (CBDRR), First Aid Youths (FAY) and community-based health (CBH) programs.
            The immediate study objective are to:
 – Providee ndlined ata of an equivalent sample of households and determine change over time based on a comparison to baseline data.
 – Determine the impact of the American Red Cross programming in the target geographic areas for the Water and Sanitation, CBDRR, CBH and FAY programs.
 – Provide recommendations to the organization and other sectoral stakeholders based on findings that could be linked to the Final Project Evaluations.
             In addition, depending on resource and technical constraints, the study may:
 – Provide information on the reach of the First Aid Youths (FAY) training program – by sampling of trainees in the FAY program and assessing impac to the training;
 – Provide a comparison sample of households in non-program communities for the CBH programs.
