Prof. Pramote Prasartkul said in an interview that the elderly in Thailand was increasing in number by 14% or 25 million people or one third of the total population. It was because of low reproductive rate and longer life expectancy. And because of changing population structure, the government should lay down elderly-related policies such as on health and living. These older persons were still important to labor market and the society and this issue should also be addressed.
