Abstract
Comprises of Presentations on studies about various migration patterns in Asia– exploring different trends ranging from issues, challenges, opportunities and methods of choices among commuters. Exclusive cases of various countries include; the case from Mynmar, China, Indonesia and Bhutan. The detailed cases are as follows: 1. The demographics of internal migration on urbanization for a better life: A case of new capital city, Nay Pyi Taw in Myanmar by Dr. Yadanar Aung 2. Methods of Commuter in two cities of Indonesia by Rina Gustiana 3. China’s Marriage Migration by Zheng Chen 4. Bhutan’s case of Rural –Urban Migration: Opportunities and Challenges by Pema Yangchen A brief abstract highlight on the first case is provided below: Myanmar, a country of 51.5 million populations according to the 2014 Myanmar population and housing census, had only a brief history of lifetime internal migration for employment or residence within the States and Regions or outside their places of births. Now, Myanmar is on the path of transforming to a developed one and also it needs to study the demographics of internal migration and urbanization for a better life. This literature reviewed paper aimed to understand the situation of internal migration in new capital city of Myanmar and issues underlying it. Nay Pyi Taw was the second highest number of net migration when the former capital city, Yangon was the highest inflow of migrants. The percentage of male internal migrants was slightly less than those of female. The information provided by the main reasons of movements on conventional household members calculated that nearly half of female were moved to follow the family. The most significant reason of move among male was for searching jobs (Employment). Among the four major migration streams, urban-urban migration was the highest proportion of five years migrants and 19.3 % over a lifetime migrant were reported that they moved at least once. Considered, the newly democratic era of country and growth of healthy nations, increasing better working opportunities and economic development are critical to urbanization. The challenges for a better life in the new setting are notified at policy level which must be linked with the livelihood of vulnerable migrant population, to sustain the wellbeing and healthy of the migrant who moved to the new place.
