On 2 February 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, together with the executive team, welcomed delegates from the National Institute of Population and Social Security Research (IPSS), Japan, and the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), including
(1) Dr. Setsuya Fukuda, Senior Researcher, IPSS
(2) Dr. Yoshinori Nishimura, Researcher, IPSS, and
(3) Dr. Liem Nguyen, Researcher, ERIA.
The visit aimed to exchange views and discuss potential academic and research collaboration, with a focus on key issues in population and social policy, including:
📌 National Transfer Accounts (NTA) and National Time Transfer Accounts (NTTA)
📌 Financial sustainability of the ageing population
📌 Evidence-based Policy Making (EBPM)
The discussion also covered future cooperation in joint research projects, workshops, and regional seminars. The meeting was held at Sarabua Room (109), 1st Floor, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University.
