The Center for Southeast Asian Studies (CSEAS), Kyoto University, hosted a Young Scholars Salon in Bangkok on 15 January 2026, bringing together early-career scholars for an informal exchange of ideas on Southeast Asia. The salon featured research snapshots by Dr. Yuqing Li (Tsinghua University) on the Thai–Cambodian border conflict, Mr. Kotchaphop Kornphetcharat (Fudan University) on Sino–Thai foreign relations, Dr. Pattaphol Yuktadatta (Mahidol University) on Thailand’s labour market, Mr. Zheng Zeng (Tsinghua University) on Thailand’s Constitutional Court, and Dr. Yalei Zhai (Kyoto University) on extreme climate in Southeast Asia, followed by open discussion and informal networking over dinner at the CSEAS Bangkok Liaison Office.
