Human Rights Assembly on the Occasion of International Human Rights Day 2025

On December 18, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, participated in a panel discussion and exchange of views on the rights of older persons during the Human Rights Assembly on the Occasion of International Human Rights Day 2025. The event was held under the theme: “Human Rights: Our Everyday Essential”, organized by the National Human Rights Commission of Thailand (NHRC).

The insights, discussions, and policy recommendations gathered from participants during the event will serve as important inputs for the NHRC in preparing human rights situation assessment reports, developing policy recommendations, and proposing legal reforms or amendments to promote and protect human rights. These outcomes will also be consolidated into the resolutions of the 2025 Human Rights Assembly for submission to relevant authorities.

In addition, the Institute for Population and Social Research hosted an exhibition booth at the event to disseminate information about its research outputs, academic programs, and training activities. The booth also featured interactive activities and souvenir giveaways, which attracted strong interest from participants. The event took place at the Centara Life Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre, Chaeng Watthana, Bangkok.
