On November 5, 2025, the Office of Risk Factor Control 2 (ThaiHealth), together with the project “Evaluation and Data Collection for Mental Health Promotion under the National Risk Factor Control Strategy (2023–2027)” led by IPSR, organized the meeting “Partnership for the Future of Thailand’s Mental Health” at Victor Club, Sathorn Square.
The event was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr.Bhubate Samutachak, Principal Investigator, together with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tawanchai Jirapramukpitak, MD, Asst. Prof. Dr. Nucharapon Liangruenrom, Dr. Burathep Chokthananukul, Ms. Kanyapat Suttikasem, Ms. Kanchana Thianlai, and Ms. Benjamas Rodphai.
The meeting aimed to highlight Thailand’s increasingly complex mental health challenges and discuss the strategic role of ThaiHealth in strengthening national mental health promotion efforts.
It was attended by 25 representatives from national networks in mental health, including government agencies, academic institutions, public organizations, and civil society groups.
Opening remarks and keynote addresses were delivered by: Dr. Pongthep Wongwatcharapaiboon, Manager of ThaiHealth, “Directions for Strengthening Mental Health Promotion for the Thai Population”, and Dr. Dusadee Jungsirakulawit, Manager of the Mental Health Promotion Policy Program, “The Future of Mental Health Policy and Strategic Action in Thailand”.
Participants also joined group discussions on:
- Identifying “Big Win” leverage points for improving mental health promotion in Thailand
- Strengthening ThaiHealth’s mental health programs for measurable impact
- Integrating mental health data systems to support national policy decision-making
The meeting served as an important platform for sharing experiences from diverse local contexts, helping shape ThaiHealth’s strategic direction in mental health policy to better meet community needs.
