On July 21, 2025, the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, organized a Special In-House Seminar in an online format, on the topic “Validation of a broad-spectrum mental health screener for integration into HIV care to facilitate linkage to psychiatric services in Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia.”
The talk was delivered by Dr. Melissa Ann Stockton from the University of Pennsylvania, who presented the progress of a research project aimed at validating a comprehensive mental health screening tool to be integrated into HIV care systems in three countries: Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia. The goal is to enhance access to psychiatric services through screening for common mental health issues, substance use problems, and suicide prevention. The session was moderated by Timethius J. Terrell.
