IPSR Student Joins Global Health Summer School at Fudan University

The Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR) is proud to share that Aung Pyae Phyo Oo, a student in our MA in Population and Sexual and Reproductive Health program, recently participated in the prestigious Global Health Summer School at Fudan University, China.

Held from 23 June to 11 July 2025, the program brought together emerging scholars and practitioners from across the world to explore pressing global health challenges through interdisciplinary and cross-cultural exchange. Aung was one of only 10 international students (studying outside of mainland China) selected to receive full support from Fudan University, which generously covered international transportation and accommodation for these participants.

Throughout the program, Aung engaged with a dynamic group of global health professionals, exchanging ideas and experiences. He gained valuable insights into the concept of “healthcare as a life-course approach,” reinforcing the critical importance of building sustainable, inclusive, and equitable health systems for all populations.

“We may not have all the answers to today’s global health challenges yet—but perhaps tomorrow. What we need is strong commitment, persistent effort, and meaningful collaboration at both global and regional levels,” he reflected.

We extend our congratulations to Aung on this achievement, and express our appreciation to Fudan University for supporting such a transformative learning opportunity.
