From June 28–30, 2025, Mr. Pasakorn Boonkhum, Plan and Policy Analyst (Expert Level) from the Strategy and Risk Management Unit, Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, was selected to participate in the “Mahidol Change Agent #1” workshop. The event was presided over by Clinical Prof. Emeritus Piyasakol Sakolsatayadorn, M.D., President of the Mahidol University Council. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sompop Prathanturarug, Vice President for Strategic Planning, Quality Development, and Social Engagement, delivered the opening remarks outlining the objectives of the program. Clinical Prof. Emeritus Udom Kachintorn, MD., a distinguished member of the University Council, also addressed the participants.
The workshop featured keynote lectures by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, MD., President of Mahidol University, on the topic “Mahidol University: A Change Leader for Creating a Healthy Society”; Mr. Pichet Tonitiwong, General Manager of Thamthurakit Social Enterprise Co., Ltd., on “Sustainable Food Security through Thamthurakit, a Social Enterprise”; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Pairach Piboonrungroj, Assistant to the President of Chiang Mai University, on “Impact Measurement and Management.” Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of IPSR, delivered a special lecture on “Mahidol University and Its Role in Driving Sustainable Development.”
The program was held at Damnoenphawa Resort, Bang Khonthi District, Samut Songkhram Province, and attended by Mahidol University executives and department heads. The Mahidol Change Agent Program was organized by the Office of Strategy and the Office of International Relations, Mahidol University, to support Strategic Goal 3: Policy Advocacy, Leadership in Professional and Academic Services, and Excellence in Capacity Building for Sustainable Development Goals. It aims to develop changemakers and influential leaders who embody sustainable development values. The first cohort included 55 participants, comprising 40 academic staff and 15 support staff, who will serve as role models and drivers of meaningful change within the university.
