Between October 21 – 22, 2024, the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Yala Provincial Administrative Organization and the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), held a workshop to support the government’s “Thailand Zero Dropout” initiative. Mr. Mukhtar Matha, President of the Yala Provincial Administrative Organization, presided over the opening ceremony and delivered an address to the working group. Ms. Rungkarn Siriratruengsuk, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Yala Provincial Administrative Organization, who is currently serving as Acting Permanent Secretary, welcomed 45 participants to the event.
The training was designed to help participants understand the Thailand Zero Dropout information system, including the detailed questionnaires within it. Participants were also trained on how to use the system effectively, based on their roles and responsibilities, and how to pass on this knowledge to other provincial working groups.
The attendees comprised key individuals responsible for driving the project to eliminate school dropouts, as well as project staff responsible for two critical roles: case manager (CM) and system administrator (Admin), both at the provincial and sub-district levels.
Facilitators included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Katewongsa, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pornthai Sirisatidkit, Dr. Wanlaya Thamapiban Inthanin, Mr. Panya Choolert, Mr. Chatinai Wanwacha, Mr. Dunusorn Potharin, Dr. Piyakrita Kaewpikul, Mr.Kritsana Aramsri, Ms. Narumol Haemathulin, Ms. Kanpitcha Kandamri, and Ms. Phanphatsa Wantawat, who guided the participants through the workshop.
