Between October 10-11, 2024, the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Pattani Provincial Administrative Organization and the Equitable Education Fund (EEF), held a workshop to support the government’s “Thailand Zero Dropout” initiative. The event focused on developing mechanisms and database systems for area-based education management.
The workshop, titled “Using the Thailand Zero Dropout Information System,” aimed to address the issue of children and youth dropping out of the education system in Pattani Province, with 70 provincial working group members participating. The training was designed to help participants understand the Thailand Zero Dropout information system, including the detailed questionnaires within it. Participants were also trained on how to use the system effectively, based on their roles and responsibilities, and how to pass on this knowledge to other provincial working groups.
The attendees comprised key individuals responsible for driving the project to eliminate school dropouts, as well as project staff responsible for three critical roles: surveyor, case manager (CM), and system administrator (Admin), both at the provincial and sub-district levels.
Facilitators included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Katewongsa, Dr. Wanlaya Thamapiban Inthanin, Mr. Panya Choolert, Ms. Rattana Duaidee, Mr. Chatinai Wanwacha, Ms. Aunyarat Khanawapee, Ms. Aujima Suksri, Mr. Dunusorn Potharin, and Ms. Nanthawan Pomkai, who guided the participants through the workshop.
