Expert Group Meeting and Capacity Building Workshop: Strengthening the Evidence Base on Migration in North and Central Asia: Data, Gender Impacts and Remittances

Dr. Sergey Ryazantsev was a panelist at the Expert Group Meeting and Capacity Building Workshop: Strengthening the Evidence Base on Migration in North and Central Asia: Data, Gender Impacts and Remittances on 4-5 June 2024 (Almaty, Kazakhstan), organized by ESCAP. In the session International Migration in North and Central Asia: Research on Key Economic and Social Issues, Dr. Sergey Ryazantsev made a presentation of the study Attracting remittances from migrant workers and diaspora for the development of Kyrgyzstan. The expert group was attended by staff of international organizations (ESCAP and IOM), as well as experts from Germany, Russian Federation, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. The results of the discussion will help to improve migration data collection in the region, as well as provide a basis for practitioners in North and Central Asian countries to make effective migration management decisions.
