International Workshop: Research in Progress Symposium: Population & Health in Contexts of Conflict and Climate Change

Between December 12 and 14, 2023, the Institute for Population and Social Research at Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Asia Center at the University of Utah, USA, under the Mekong Region Development Research Group (MRDRG), organized an international workshop titled ‘Research in Progress Symposium: Population & Health in Contexts of Conflict & Climate Change.’ The event was funded by The Henry Luce Foundation, with the objective of enhancing the knowledge and experience of social scientists and academics in the field of population and health within the contexts of conflict and climate change.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sudarat Musikawong, Deputy Director of International Relations, Networking, and Academic Service, played a crucial role in coordinating networking and academic services, with approximately 20-25 attendees participating in the training.

The training was honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aree Jampaklay, Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research, who delivered the opening speech. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charamporn Holumyong, Deputy Director for the Planning and Quality Assurance, served as advisors to the trainees. The event took place in the Sra Bua Room (109), 1st floor of the institute.
