On January 16, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Sirinya Phulkerd from the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, participated as a guest speaker, sharing experiences and lessons learned from advancing Thailand’s food environment policy. These insights were presented as guidance for policy advancement in other countries at the Policy Discussion titled: “Rising Together for Healthier Food Environments in Asia: Regional Lessons and Policy Action,” organized by the Institute of Policy Studies of Sri Lanka.
The event attracted strong interest from a network of academics and policymakers from various countries, who participated actively in the discussion. On this occasion, Thailand officially joined the “Rise with SHAPE Asia” campaign, led by Associate Professor Dr. Sirinya Phulkerd, to promote regional collaboration in advancing responsible food marketing and creating health-supportive food environments for children, adolescents, and young people.
The campaign also provides a platform for young people aged 18–30 years to harness their creativity and actively participate in communication efforts and policy advocacy, contributing to policy change that will lead to healthier and more sustainable food systems for the future of the Asian region.
