Participation in the Academic Policy Forum on “An Ageing Society”

On January 16, 2026, Associate Professor Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, participated in an academic discussion at the Policy Forum on “An Ageing Society.” He joined the panel alongside Dr. Somsak Chunharas, President of the Foundation of Thai Gerontology Research and Development Institute; Associate Professor Dr. Varalak Srinonprasert, Head of the Health Policy-Driving Research Unit, Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University; Ms. Wanna Jarusomboon, Founder of Peaceful Death; and Assistant Professor Theerapat Ungsuchaval, Thailand Institute for Mental Health Sustainability (TIMS).

The forum was moderated by Mr. Prasan Ingkanan and Ms. Nataya Waewweerakup, and was held at Chao Phraya River Conference Rooms 102–104, Sappaya-Sapasathan (The Parliament Building), Bangkok.

The Policy Watch – The Active, Thai PBS, in collaboration with the Foundation of Thai Gerontology Research and Development Institute, the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, and the Peaceful Death Network, organized this forum to raise awareness of Thailand’s ageing society and to facilitate policy dialogue through the “Policy Forum: An Ageing Society.” The forum aimed to advance the policy agenda of “Living Well, Dying Well, Ageing Well, and Living Happily” to be incorporated into political party platforms and the national legal framework.
