Workshop on Local Food System Indicators for Warin Chamrap Municipality and Khu Mueang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Ubon Ratchathani Province

Between December 14–15, 2025, IPSR advanced Phase 2 of the Local Food Systems in Thailand Project, supported by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth). Led by Associate Professor Dr. Jongjit Rittirong, together with Dr. Phattraporn Junglertsiri and Ms. Pimolphan Nitnara, the team organized a workshop to select local food system indicators for Warin Chamrap Municipality and Khu Mueang Subdistrict Administrative Organization, Ubon Ratchathani Province.

The workshop received strong cooperation from the Provincial Food Committee and relevant agencies, who actively participated in constructive discussions. This collaboration helped bridge academic knowledge with the operational work of local administrative organizations, ensuring that the selected indicators can be practically applied in planning, policy formulation, and monitoring and evaluation of local food system development in an effective manner.

The project emphasizes the use of empirical evidence in conjunction with local stakeholder participation to drive the development of safe, sustainable, and community-responsive local food systems, ultimately contributing to long-term improvements in quality of life and national food security.
