The 7th Mahidol Migration Center Regional Conference

Between November 24–25, 2025, the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, through the Mahidol Migration Center (MMC), organized the 7th Mahidol Migration Center Regional Conference on the theme “(Im)Mobilities in Turbulent Times: Navigating Global Crises, Policy Shifts, and New Pathways for Justice and Resilience.” The conference served as an international academic platform for exchanging experiences, strengthening collaboration, and expanding regional and global networks in migration studies.

The event was honored by the presence of Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongsawat, Vice President for Research, Mahidol University, who delivered the opening remarks; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of IPSR, who presented the conference objectives; and Assoc. Prof. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for International Relations and University Council Affairs, who extended the welcome address. Also in attendance were Prof. Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing, Director of MMC, along with migration network partners from international organizations, academic institutions, and NGOs, including Dr. Sabine Henning (UNESCAP), Dr. Wassana Im-Em (UNFPA), Dr. Joanna Dabao (IOM), Prof. Kaoru Aoyama (Kobe University), Prof. Marina Khramova (FCTAS RAS, Russia), and Prof. Rosalia Sciortino (SEA Junction). The sessions were moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charamporn Holumyong and Dr. Pattaphol Yuktadatta.

The conference featured five panel discussions, 52 research presentations, and exhibitions by five partner organizations, showcasing photography, short films, and other creative media. The event was held at the Prachasangkom Udompathana (Room 101), 1st Floor, IPSR, with more than 120 participants from 28 countries across Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, and Africa.
