HARMONY Project’s Initial Webinar

On 15 October 2025, the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, joined the Initial Webinar of the HARMONY Project — Health Advancement for sexual, Reproductive, Maternal and Overall meNtal well-being in vulnerable communitY settings in Southeast Asia — supported by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC).

The webinar brought together four research teams from Thailand, Cambodia, and Indonesia, forming the first HARMONY cohort to advance regional learning on the integration of sexual and reproductive health (SRHR) and mental-health services. Representatives from ERIA (Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia) and UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) also participated, sharing their supporting roles in facilitating regional collaboration, evidence translation, and policy engagement within HARMONY.

Representing the IPSR team, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dusita Phuengsamran presented our Thailand-based project: “MIND-MATTERS”, implemented with the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prince of Songkla University (HUSO-PSU) and the Raks Thai Foundation, focusing on adolescent mothers’ SRHR and mental health. The webinar fostered a space for shared learning, discussions, and networking — marking the first step in building a regional community of practice to strengthen maternal and mental well-being in Southeast Asia.
