On September 17, 2025, the research team of the project “Analyzing the Role of Local Administrative Organizations and Intermediaries in Food Procurement by Public Institutions Linked to Community Food Systems”, led by Lect. Dr. Sarunya Sujaritpong, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marc Voelker, Dr. Kamolchanok Khumsuwan, and Ms. Khwanruethai Amorndoljai, conducted a pilot survey with three local administrative organizations in Nakhon Pathom Province. The aim was to assess their willingness to participate and to pay for supporting schools in procuring safe food ingredients from local food systems.
The team also met with Mr. Boonsom Prasertmak (Mayor of Song Khanong Subdistrict Administrative Organization), Mr. Kriangsak Pringraksa (Deputy Mayor of Om Yai Municipality), and Ms. Rojana Kaewphakdee (Director of Education Division, Sampran Municipality), together with officials from education divisions, policy and planning officers, and teachers responsible for school lunch programs under their supervision. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views, test the suitability of the research tools, and gather feedback from practical experiences in the field. These insights will be valuable for improving the research tools to ensure alignment with local contexts, effective application, and long-term support for sustainable community food systems.
