Research Ethics Training: “Research Ethics in Diverse Cultures and with Vulnerable Populations”

On September 2, 2025, the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, organized a training workshop on “Research Ethics in Diverse Cultural Contexts and with Vulnerable Populations” at the Prachasangkom Udompathana Room (101), 1st Floor, IPSR Building.

The workshop aimed to enhance researchers’ knowledge, understanding, and ethical awareness, particularly in conducting studies within culturally diverse contexts and with vulnerable groups, issues that are highly sensitive and require careful consideration in all fields of research.

The training was opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of IPSR, and featured distinguished speakers including Emeritus Prof. Dr. Pramote Prasartkul, Prof. Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirinan Kittisuksathit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirinya Phulkerd, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Amara Soonthorndhada, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kanchana Tangchonlatip, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tawanchai Jirapramukpitak, MD, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Teeranong Sakulsri. They shared insights and experiences on conducting research with vulnerable populations. The session was moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Charamporn Holumyong.
