IPSR Students Selected to Present Thesis Proposals for SDG Policy-Driven Research Grants (FY2025)

On 26 August 2025, two graduate students from the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, were selected to present their thesis proposals to compete for Policy-Driven Thesis Support Grants for SDGs, FY2025, organized by Mahidol University Graduate School.

The selected students were: 1) Mr. Jetpon Saengkla, Ph.D. candidate in Population and Social Research, who presented on “The Situation, Influences, and Experiences of Food Insecurity and Food Access among Older Adults in Thailand.”, and 2) Mr. Maung Aye Saw, M.A. candidate in Population and Sexual and Reproductive Health (International Program), who presented on “Enablers, Barriers, and Coping Strategies in Accessing Maternal Healthcare among Women in Conflict-Affected Rakhine State, Myanmar.”

The presentations took place at MaSHARES Co-Working Space @ MB, Mahidol University, and were honored by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sompop Prathanturarug, Vice President for Strategic Planning, Quality Development, and Social Engagement, who served as project advisor and gave encouragement. Prof. Dr. Chartchalerm Isarankura Na Ayudhya, Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies, chaired the judging panel, joined by members of the Faculty of Graduate Studies’s executive board.

This year, a total of 34 works were shortlisted: 18 doctoral-level and 16 master’s-level projects. The grant aims to promote high-quality graduate theses that align with and contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at both national and regional levels.
