Research Collaboration Meeting for the “Sussex-Mahidol Migration Research Partnership” Project

From 22–23 July 2025, the Institute for Population and Social Research (IPSR), Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan (Director) and Prof. Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing (Senior Advisor), participated in the opening ceremony of the research collaboration meeting under the project “Sussex-Mahidol Migration Research Partnership” on 22 July 2025.

The event was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nopraenue Sajjarax Dhirathiti, Vice President for Global Partnerships and University Council at Mahidol University, who delivered the opening remarks and welcome address.

Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kritaya Archavanitkul and Khun Kulapa Vajanasara, Researcher (Senior Professional Level), shared research experiences on the topic “The Spectrum of Life Behind the Numbers: Size Estimation of LGBTQ+ in Thailand” at the Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia, Mahidol University.

On 23 July 2025, IPSR hosted the “IPSR In-House Seminar” featuring: Prof. Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing (Senior Advisor), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jongjit Rittirong (Deputy Director for Research), and Dr. Pattaphol Yuktadatta.

The seminar included a workshop titled: “How to Get Published in International Journals – Academic Editors’ Perspective” led by Dr. Laura Morosanu (Reader in Sociology), and Dr. Sarah Scuzzarello (Associate Professor in Geography and Editorial Board Member of Ethnic and Racial Studies journal).

The event was held in the Srabua Room (Room 109), IPSR, Mahidol University, and also broadcast online via Zoom Meeting and Facebook Live, with approximately 40 participants.
