On July 21, 2025, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sirinya Phulkerd, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jongjit Rittirong, Dr. Pattraporn Chuenglertsiri, and Ms. Pimolpan Nitnara from the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, participated in the workshop seminar on the topic “Thailand Pathway for Food and Agriculture Systems Transformation: Full… and… Well… 2030”, held at Centara Grand at Central Plaza Ladprao, Bangkok.
The objective of the seminar was to exchange knowledge, policy proposals, and strategies to drive the transformation of Thailand’s agriculture and food systems in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The event brought together participants from diverse sectors, including government, private sector, civil society, and academia.
The seminar featured various activities, such as:
- Presentations of Thailand’s food system assessment results
- Panel discussions on advancing Thai agriculture systems toward the 2030 targets
- Experience sharing from local network partners
- Group work sessions to propose action plans in areas including governance, policy, finance, science, technology, and capacity-building across all sectors
The participation of the research team from the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, highlighted the institute’s important role in public policy research for sustainable development, especially on issues related to food and nutrition, which are fundamental to the well-being of the population.
