On July 9 and 16, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the research team of the project titled “Analyzing the Role of Local Administrative Organizations and Intermediaries in Food Procurement by State Institutions Linked to Community Food Systems”, led by Dr. Sarunya Sujaritpong (DVM), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marc Voelker, Dr. Kamolchanok Kamsuwan, Ms. Khwanruethai Amorndoljai, Ms. Narumon Charoenjai, and Mr. Phongsak Muensakda, organized two online consultation meetings. The first session focused on discussions with experts. The second session involved Local Administrative Organizations (LAOs) and schools.
The objective of these two meetings was to gather insights and experiences related to procurement practices of safe food ingredients for schools by LAOs and schools, including methods of implementation, budget and expenditure, problems and obstacles, and to capture these from diverse perspectives. The collected insights will be used to: 1) Analyze possible scenario models for willingness to pay and participate in safe food procurement for schools, 2) Explore non-budgetary forms of collaboration, and 3) Identify common themes for developing the most realistic and reflective questionnaire for surveying 550 local administrative organizations across the country.
