On June 18 and 20, 2025, a research team from the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jongjit Rittirong, Dr. Pattraporn Chuenglertsiri, and Ms. Pimolpan Nitnara, conducted a field visit and organized a workshop on the analysis of local food system indicators at the Na Kham Subdistrict Administrative Organization in Kham Khuean Kaeo District and the Doet Subdistrict Municipality in Mueang Yasothon District, Yasothon Province.

The purpose of this workshop was to gather insights and data from various local sectors, including members of local administrative organizations, local networks, and community members, to support the analysis of the appropriateness of proposed local food system indicators and to reflect the true state of the local food systems.

The workshop began with a presentation of previous project activities and an overview of the workshop’s objectives by the research team. This was followed by an open discussion for participants to share their perspectives on the local food system situation. In both morning and afternoon sessions, participants evaluated the relevance and suitability of proposed indicators. Throughout the workshop, the research team worked closely with local partners to synthesize the collected data.

This workshop marked a significant step toward the sustainable development of local food systems, grounded in community participation and evidence-based planning tailored to the specific context of each community.
