TPAK Participated in the 2025 Elderly Health Promotion Booth Organized by the Department of Physical Education

On May 30, 2025, the Thailand Physical Activity Knowledge Development Centre (TPAK), Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, led by Mr. Surasak Penmai, Dr. Piyakrita Kaewpikul, Ms. Natthanan Sirikosoom, and Mr. Nitipat Prasartkul, participated in the 2025 Elderly Health Promotion activity by organizing an exhibition booth at the multipurpose area in front of Nimibutr Sports Building, National Stadium.

The event was organized by the Department of Physical Education, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, under the “DPE Healthy Seniors” initiative as part of the project to promote healthy lifestyles based on the principles of sports science for sustainable well-being. The goal is to sustainably enhance health and physical fitness among the elderly.

At the TPAK exhibition booth, the following knowledge-based media and activities were showcased:

  • Personality Test: To help the elderly understand themselves and their motivation for physical activity.
  • Preliminary Physical Activity Assessment: To evaluate the adequacy of physical activity per week based on the World Health Organization’s recommendations.
  • “Nong Paew Waew” LINE Platform: An mHealth (mobile health) innovation designed to promote and stimulate physical activity through behavioral intervention processes.
  • Research and Academic Knowledge: Including the social return on investment (SROI) analysis of subdistrict health funds with physical activity plans, and the development of a model community mechanism for promoting physical activity among the elderly.

TPAK’s participation in this event highlights its role as a driving force in advancing knowledge and innovation related to physical activity, aimed at enhancing the quality of life for all age groups in Thailand, especially the elderly population, as the country moves toward becoming a super-aged society.
