Human Research Ethics Workshop in Social Science Research: From Theory to Practice

On March 25, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Jongjit Rittirong, Deputy Director of Research, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, delivered the opening remarks at the Human Research Ethics Workshop in Social Science Research: From Theory to Practice. Organized by the Institutional Review Board of the Institute for Population and Social Research, the workshop aimed to disseminate guidelines on human research ethics, highlight key ethical considerations, and raise awareness among participants.

The workshop was honored to feature Emeritus Professor Dr. Pramote Prasartkul, who provided insights into the principles of human research ethics and the code of ethics for social science researchers. Associate Professor Dr. Sirinan Kittisuksathit shared expertise on the application of research ethics principles to social science research, while Associate Professor Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing and Associate Professor Dr. Jongjit Rittirong discussed ethical challenges in research within the digital age. The session also included a practical case study activity on ethical dilemmas in social science research, engaging 30 participants in hands-on learning.

The workshop was hosted by Associate Professor Dr. Charamporn Holumyong at the Prachasangkom Udompat Meeting Room (101), 1st floor, Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University.
