On March 21, 2025, the Thailand Physical Activity Knowledge Development Centre (TPAK), Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, in collaboration with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, we!park, Arsom Silp Institute, and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, organized the Active City Forum: Activate City for a Healthier Life at EmGlass, Emsphere Shopping Mall. The event was honored by the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yodchanan Wongswasdi, Vice President for Research, Mahidol University, who participated in the opening ceremony and attended a special lecture.
This forum aimed to promote the development of urban environments that support public health. Discussions were structured around four key themes: Active Environment, Active Lifestyle, Active Mechanism, and Active Collaboration. As a co-organizer, TPAK played a crucial role in designing activities that encourage physical activity for all age groups. The center utilized research-based insights to provide recommendations for improving public spaces and transportation systems that are conducive to walking and cycling.
The event featured a variety of activities, including seminars, workshops, and public tours exploring bicycle routes, waterways, and walking paths, as well as a networking session to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders working towards the development of healthier urban spaces and sustainable societal change.
