TPAK Organizes Data Management Training on Accelerometer Applications for 24-Hour Behavioral Research in Thailand

From February 10–11, 2025, the Thailand Physical Activity Knowledge Development Centre (TPAK), Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, organized a training session on data management using accelerometers at the Srabua Room (109), Institute for Population and Social Research.

The training was honored to have Dr. Kar-Hau Chong, an expert in accelerometer data analysis from Wollongong University, Australia, as the keynote speaker. Associate Professor Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan,  the Director of Institute for Population and Social Research, delivered the opening remarks, alongside Associate Professor Dr. Piyawat Katewongsa, Assistant Professor Dr. Dyah Anantalia Widyastari, and Dr. Piyakrita Kaewpikul. A total of 17 participants attended the training.

This training was designed for researchers, academics, students, and professionals interested in using accelerometers to collect and analyze physical activity, sedentary behavior, and sleep patterns. The program covered data management, interpretation using GGIR, and analysis using R, equipping participants with the skills to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of physical activity research in Thailand.
