TPAK Supports the Height Fight Policy to Promote Play and Increase the Height of Thai Children

On January 7, 2025, at Government House, Prime Minister Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra and the Cabinet participated in the policy presentation at the exhibition “Just Play with Your Child…The World Changes” to advocate for the “Height Fight: Encourage Thai Children to Increase Their Height” policy. The presentation was led by Mr. Somsak Thepsuthin, Minister of Public Health, and Dr. Amporn Benjapolpitak, Director-General of the Department of Health, along with other executives from the working group. The policy highlights six types of play designed to stimulate growth and enhance the height of Thai children.

The Thailand Physical Activity Knowledge Development Centre (TPAK) at the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, has been instrumental in developing and designing a comprehensive knowledge set and policy implementation guidelines. These resources aim to support activities at all early childhood development centers under various affiliations, encompassing a total of 12,215 locations nationwide. This initiative ensures that Thai children can grow appropriately, achieve good health, and have a sustainable quality of life.
