On December 23, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, representing the Mahidol Migration Center (MMC), participated as a panelist in the discussion on “The Impact of Migration on Thailand’s Economy and Society and Equitable Social Security and Health.” The event, held at Room 801, 8th Floor, Chalermkrung 60th Anniversary Building, Chulalongkorn University, was organized by the Migration Health Sub-Working Group under the United Nations Network on Migration (UNMN) of Thailand.
The event aimed to raise awareness of the critical contributions of migrant populations to Thailand’s social and economic systems. It also served as a platform to discuss the current situation, opportunities, and policy recommendations for advancing equitable social security and health for migrant populations in Thailand.
