Presentation of Study Results on the Development of a Regional Strategy for Mental Health Issues Faced by LGBTQI Communities in Southeast Asia

On September 18, 2024, Asst. Prof. Dr. Dusita Phuengsamran, Deputy Director for International Relations and Corporate Communication at the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, and the project leader of “Developing a Regional Strategy on Mental Health Issues Faced by Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Men who have sex with Men (LGBMSM) and Transgender Communities in Southeast Asia,” presented the study findings in collaboration with four countries: The Poz Home Center (Thailand), Oogachaga (Singapore), GWL-INA (Indonesia), and TLF SHARE (the Philippines).

The presentation took place during the online seminar “VOICE UNHEARD: MENTAL HEALTH INSIGHTS FOR LGBTIQ+ COMMUNITIES IN THAILAND, INDONESIA, SINGAPORE, AND THE PHILIPPINES,” supported by the APCOM Foundation. The seminar had over 90 participants from 26 countries. The project’s research team members who attended the event included Lit. Niphon Darawuttimaprakorn, a Senior Research Practitioner, and Ms. Chanipaa Eiamcharoen, a student of the Master of Arts in Population and Social Research program (Thai program) at IPSR.
