The ceremony for the Outstanding Thesis Award for the Fiscal Year 2024

On August 3, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Katewongsa joined the ceremony to receive the Outstanding Thesis Award for the Fiscal Year 2024, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Mahidol University, at the orientation for graduate students for the academic year 2024 at Mahidol Sithakarn, Mahidol University. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sutthida Chuanwan, Deputy Director for General Administration, presented a bouquet of flowers to congratulate the alumni who received the award.

On this occasion, two alumni of the Institute received the Outstanding Thesis Award for the Fiscal Year 2024:

  1. Dr.Rungrat Palakai, an alumni of the Doctor of Philosophy in Population and Social Research (Thai Program), received the Distinguished Thesis Award for the thesis titled “The Projection of Effectiveness of the Proposed Help to Quit Tobacco Use Policy on Disability-Adjusted Life Years of the Thai Population,” with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Katewongsa as the advisor.
  2. Dr. Sirinya Kaikeaw, alumni of the Doctor of Philosophy in Demography (International Program), received the Excellent Thesis Award for the thesis titled “Socioeconomic inequalities in health outcomes among the older population in the era of Thailand’s Universal Health Coverage,” with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sureeporn Punpuing as the advisor.
