Launch of the activity “IPSR PA Challenge: Creating Good Health with 53 Years of IPSR”

On July 31, 2024, the Healthy Workplace Activity Development Committee at the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University, organized the event “IPSR PA Challenge: Creating Good Health with 53 Years of IPSR.” The event was honored by an opening address from Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chalermpol Chamchan, Director of the Institute. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Katewongsa, Chairman of the Healthy Workplace Committee, introduced the activity. Following this, the Healthy Workplace team discussed setting activity goals based on survey results. The event also included an introduction to the “Thai Suk” application, the collection of health data, and body mass index measurements by the Thailand Physical Activity Knowledge Development Center (TPAK) team at Room 101, IPSR.

The aims of this activity are to:

  • Support personnel in achieving good physical and mental health and physical fitness.
  • Encourage participation and promote organizational commitment.
  • Find effective activity formats to promote physical activity, change health behaviors, and reduce sedentary behaviors.

Additionally, participants have a common goal of accumulating 53 million steps to present as a gift to the Institute on its 53rd anniversary (November 11, 2024). They also have the chance to win various personal prizes throughout the 3-month activity period (August 1 – October 31, 2024).
