Discussion on academic cooperation and research on promoting physical activity

On July 25, 2023, professors and students from The University of Hong Kong gathered for a discussion on academic cooperation and research related to physical activity promotion. The discussion was led by Prof. Cindy Hui-ping SIT, the Chairperson and Professor of the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education. MS Chang LIU and Mr Jia-hao SHEN, both PhD Students from the same department, were also actively involved in the discussion. They were joined by a group of teachers and researchers from the TPAK Center, led by Ajarn Dyah Anantalia Widya, a lecturer at the Institute for Population and Social Research, Mahidol University.

Additionally, researchers including Dr. Piyakrita Kaewpikul, Ms. Nattaporn Nilwatta, Mr. Narakorn Wongsingha , Mr. Surasak Penmai, and Ms. Nutnaree Choonak also participated in the discussion. The visit was honored by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Aree Jampaklay, the Director of the Institute for Population and Social Research, and Associate Professor Dr. Bhubate Samutachak, who warmly welcomed the visitors. The purpose of this talk and visit was to exchange knowledge and information on the operations of the Thailand Physical Activity Knowledge Development Centre (TPAK).

The focus of the discussion was on research methodologies and operations related to physical activity in Thailand, with particular emphasis on cooperation for working on physical activity among people with disabilities. The intention is to foster collaborative research in this area for future development in Thailand.
